Windows error when I turned my computer on for the first time.

You may receive the error message The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click OK to restart the computer, and then restart the installation when:

- The power adaptor is not plugged in during the initial install and the computer runs out of power.

- The Windows installation is interrupted by manually powering the notebook off. This could be done by holding down the power button during setup

If you experience this issue and it is a brand new notebook, please follow the instructions here to restart this process.

Further Information

I do not have a new computer, but this error has still occurred.

This issue will also occur if you have just completed a system recovery and the Windows installation is interrupted as listed in the above two steps. Restarting the system recovery will fix this issue.
