Sometimes when your battery runs out of charge, it can get locked in resume mode. You can re-enable the normal mode by the following.
1. Plug the computer into main power.
2. If the machine is on hold down the power button on the computer for ten (10) seconds to completely switch it off.
3. Press and hold the backspace key and turn the computer on.
4. Once you see the Toshiba splash screen; release the backspace key.
5. When prompted use the arrow keys on your keyboard to select Start Windows Normally; press Enter.
6. Windows should now load normally.
Further Troubleshooting
I tried holding the backspace key while turning the computer on but my computer switched off again.
Have you made sure that you're not holding down the power button to turn the computer back on again? You only need to press it enough to turn the machine on, holding it down will force the machine to turn off again.
I have tried the backspace and restart; but I still do not have anything on my computer screen.
If you still do not have any display on your machine; you may need to do a power reset on it.
1. Make sure that the computer is completely switched off by holding down the power button for ten (10) seconds. When the computer is switched off you should only have the power indicator light and the battery light lit up on the front panel.
Note: if your computer is only running in battery mode there will be no lights lit up on the front panel when it is completely switched off.
1. Remove the main power cord from the computer if it is plugged in.
2. Remove the battery (see your user guide for instructions on removing your battery).
3. Plug the main power back in; leaving the battery out.
4. Turn the computer on by pressing the power button.
5. When prompted use the arrow keys on your keyboard to select Start Windows Normally; press Enter.
6. Windows should now load normally.
7. You may put the battery back into the computer; however you should only do so when the computer is completely switched off and the main power cord has been unplugged.
I have tried all of the suggestions above and I still do not have a display on my computer.
