You may be able to fix this issue with your Vista® operating system by setting your computer back to an earlier restore point using your System Restore wizard.

Further Troubleshooting
I do not have Vista® on my computer or when I access my Advanced Boot Options the Repair your Computer option is not there.
You may also try setting your computer back to your Last Known Good Configuration.
1. Make sure that your computer is completely switched off.
Note: When the computer is switched off you should only have the power indicator light and the battery light lit up on the front panel.
2. Press and hold the F8 key; at the same turn the computer on.
3. Using the arrow keys on your keyboard, select the option Last Known Good Configuration (you most recent settings that worked) and press the Enter key.
4. Select Microsoft Windows XP Professional® as the operating system to start; press Enter.
5. Your computer will now restart.
Further Troubleshooting
I have tried using both of the above options and I still can not load Windows®.
If after performing the system restore, you can not load Windows® you may need to try an earlier restore point. If this is unsuccessful, you may need to consider performing a System Recovery. Instructions on how to run this are found here.
