How do I remove a Supervisor password?

 

The Supervisor password is something that can only be set by someone using the computer. If you know what the password is and want to remove it, this can be done in the following way:

For Notebooks preinstalled with a Windows 7, 8.0 and 8.1 license

1. When powering on the computer, press the F2 button repeatedly to enter into the BIOS.
2. You will then be prompted to Enter the supervisor password or hit F11 key to proceed F11 key limits functions
3. Scroll to the Security TAB
4. Scroll to the Supervisor Password and press Enter
5. Enter your existing Supervisor Password
6. Leave the new password blank and press Enter
7. Leave the confirm new password blank and press Enter
8. Press F10 to Exit Saving changes.

When you turn your computer back on, the Supervisor password will now be removed.

For Notebooks preinstalled with a Windows Vista and XP license

1. When powering on the computer, press the INS button repeatedly to prompt for supervisor password.
2. You will then be prompted to Enter the supervisor password
3. Scroll to the Security TAB
4. Scroll to the Supervisor Password and press Enter
5. Enter your existing Supervisor Password
6. Leave the new password blank and press Enter
7. Leave the confirm new password blank and press Enter
8. Press F10 to Exit Saving changes.

When you turn your computer back on, the Supervisor password will now be removed.


Please note: Toshiba does not have any master passwords to override your existing password. If you do not know the Supervisor password and want to remove it, this can be done at a Toshiba service provider for a fee.
