Some new Toshiba notebook computers now have a 3G modem built-in. You may use this guide to configure and connect to your 3G network.
Instructions on how to install the SIM can be found in your Wireless WAN guide included in the box when you purchased your computer.
Please note: This only applies to Toshiba notebook computers with a 3G modem built-in. If you’re not sure if your computer supports this you may check here at www.mytoshiba.com.au/products.
You will need to have a 3G account with an internet service provider before you can use this service.

1. Insert SIM according to instructions in User Guide.
2. Click on your Start Menu.
3. Select All Programs.
4. Select the TOSHIBA folder.
5. Select TOSHIBA Wireless Manager folder.
6. Select TOSHIBA Wireless Manager.
7. If requested enter your SIM card PIN.
8. Your connection to your SIM will be confirmed.
Please note: If the message on the Connection tab “Radio is turned off. To activate, change state in Settings” you will need to enable this using the steps below.
a) Click on Settings tab.
b) Select Radio.
c) Select Default.
d) Radio Status should now change to Radio On: Yes.
9. When the SIM is detected and the 3G Radio is turned on your should see the following window.
10. Select Connect.
11. Your computer will now connect to your 3G network. When this is connected you will see the screen below.
How to setup profile manually.
Open the Toshiba Wireless Manager using the steps above.
1. Select the Settings tab.
2. Select Advanced.
3. Select the Profiles tab.
4. Under the heading Manage Profiles select New Profile.
5. Create a Profile Name to identify your profile.
6. Enter your Access Point (APN).
7. If required enter your user name and your password.
Please note: Unless specifically required by your ISP; the Username and Password doesn't have to be entered.
8. Select Save.
9. Check under the heading Profile Selection that your new profile is selected. If not select Manual Selection and then choose your profile from the drop-down box. Select Apply.
Please note: Information such as your APN, your User Name and Password should be provided by your Internet Service Provider. If you’re not sure what this are you may try to copy an existing profile using the Copy Existing drop down box.
Adjusting DNS and IP address settings.
1. Open the Toshiba Wireless Manager using the steps above.
2. Select the Settings tab.
3. Select Profiles.
4. Under the heading Manage Profiles select Advanced Settings.

2. Click on Start.
3. Select TOSHIBA folder.
4. Select Wireless Manager folder; then select Wireless Manager.
5. If requested enter your SIM Lock Pin and select OK.
6. Select Connect.
How to Setup Profile Manually
1. Open the Toshiba Wireless Manager using the steps above.
2. Select the spanner icon on the screen as shown below.
3. Select Profiles.
4. Select New.
5. Under the heading Profile Settings enter in the following information:
a) Profile Name (this is used to identify your profile; this can be any name that you choose).
b) Access Point Name
6. If required by your Internet Service Provider (ISP) you will also need to enter:
a) Username
b) Password
Please note: Unless specifically required by your ISP; the Username and Password doesn't have to be entered.
7. Select OK.
8. Under the heading Active Profile confirm your new profile is now selected, if not you may enable this using the drop-down box. Select OK.
Adjusting DNS and IP address settings.
1. Open Profiles using the instructions above.
2. Click on Advanced.
MobiLink
1. Click on Start.
2. Select All Programs.
3. Select Novatel Wireless.
4. Select MobiLink.
5. Click on Menu.
6. Select Profile Manager.
7. Select New.
8. Create Profile Name.
9. Enter in APN (this will be provided by your 3G provider).
10. Select PDP Type (this will also be provided by your 3G provider).
11. Enter your Username and Password (if required); confirm password and select Finish.
Please note: Unless specifically required by your ISP; the Username and Password doesn't have to be entered.
12. Select Yes to set this profile as default.
13. Select Ok.
14. Select Connect.
Further Troubleshooting
My SIM card isn’t recognized or my computer cannot detect the 3G network.
There are three pieces of software that need to be installed for this service to work:
1. 3G Wireless Driver
2. Toshiba Wireless Manager or MobiLink
3. 3G RF Power Control Utility
These should be installed in the order listed above.
