Dear Customer,

It has come to our attention that some organisations have recently run retail advertisements for, or offered for sale on the internet, Toshiba Notebook Computers and other Toshiba branded products that are not imported into Australia and/or New Zealand by Toshiba (Australia) Pty Limited.

These are models released by Toshiba Corporation in the USA for the US market and are not marketed by it in Australia and/or New Zealand. Products marketed by Toshiba (Australia) Pty Limited come with a warranty card bearing this name. Product from other sources may not come with this warranty. You should be particularly careful that your vendor does not misrepresent this product as being covered by the voluntary warranty that is issued by Toshiba (Australia) Pty Limited.

As such, the product and in particular the Toshiba Notebook Computers, that you may purchase online, may not be specifically designed to meet Australia and New Zealand’s regulatory requirements, and may not be certified for A-Tick and C-Tick compliance. The obligation for compliance is with the importer or final assembler in Australia and/or New Zealand.

We also wish to bring to your attention that there are certain obligations imposed by legislation, such as the Australian Consumer Law and New Zealand’s Commerce Act and Consumer Guarantees Act, on importers The importer of this product, whether sold online or otherwise, is responsible for the reasonable provision of spare parts and service facilities and any warranty obligations that might arise.

Should any of the products that imported and sold online to customers, that are not imported into Australia and/or New Zealand by Toshiba (Australia) Pty Limited, be returned to us or our authorised service providers for warranty obligations or service, then, these customers will be advised that:

1. the product was not imported by us; and
2. repair issues should be taken up with the organisation from whom it was purchased whether online or otherwise.

Toshiba (Australia) Pty Limited does not carry spare parts for Toshiba brand products manufactured for other specific world markets.
